துளிர் — A New Identity for the Everyday Coconut Stop Tender-coconut vendors are an integral part of India’s roadside culture, yet most operate through generic steel carts, hand-painted signs, and inconsistent visual communication. துளிர் reimagines this familiar roadside experience as a recognizable, scalable brand. The project creates a visual identity and modular van system for a modern tender-coconut franchise while retaining the accessibility and familiarity of the traditional street vendor. The identity is built around a simple linguistic idea: துளிர் → THEN → குளிர் A small moment of heat and thirst leads to a simple, natural solution — tender coconut.

Project overview

Turning a roadside necessity into a recognizable brand

The project focuses on developing a complete identity system for துளிர், a proposed tender-coconut street-vendor franchise.

The challenge was to create a brand that could work within the constraints of a small cuboidal steel vending truck, while still being highly visible, memorable and easy to replicate across multiple locations.

Challenges

The product is an everyday roadside refreshment, not a premium café beverage. The visual identity therefore needed to feel fresh and contemporary without making the product feel expensive or inaccessible.

The core brand thought

வெயில், பிறகு துளிர்.
தாகம், பிறகு குளிர்.

Heat, then Thulir.
Thirst, then Kulir.

This turns THEN from a simple connecting word into the central idea of the brand — whatever the heat or thirst, Thulir comes next.
